Lemon-licorice ice cream
This is a flavor of ice cream here and I bought a carton and took it home and ate a slice of it. (It's lemon-licorice, in case you can't tell.)
DELICIOUS.
Not so delicious food story:
I haven't ever really had one of those standard overseas "and then we ordered a pizza and it came with [x gross ingredient] on it!!!!" stories. UNTIL NOW. We driving home from my trail run last week and we called in an order to Kotipizza for a pepperoni pizza to pick up in Valkeakoski on the way. Could not possibly go wrong, right? I mean, they asked Jeremy if he wanted it with or without oregano (??? - with, I guess?), but otherwise, you know, pepperoni pizza.
Well, we picked it up, and our pepperoni pizza had tunafish on it. As a topping! Jeremy took it back to the restaurant to see if they would take pity on a first-time pizza-ordering foreigner, but since this is a "should know" culture, the employee just pointed out on the menu where "tunafish" is listed under the default toppings for a pepperoni pizza. Oh well.
(I just remembered this one other Finland pizza story - a few months ago we bought a frozen Hawaiian pizza at the store, took it home, cooked it, and then realized that not only did it have ham and pineapple, but also tiny shrimps. Which actually makes sense for a Hawaiian pizza, and could maybe even be delicious.)
