Welcome to my blog. I write about fitting in, sticking out, and missing the motherland as a serial foreigner.

Downton Abbey Season 6 (no spoilers)

I've been watching Downton Abbey season 6 on the British schedule, which means there are only one or two more episodes and then the Christmas Special. I'll post thoughts for each episode in the winter when the show airs in the US.

So this post is just to say something I could have said before this season even started (and therefore there are no spoilers here): I am only watching this show because it's pretty, and it's different from my own life, and I care about a few of the characters and I enjoy watching them have romantical adventures in semi-olden days.

It is strange to hear that theme music come on and NOT be in the UAE. I watched Season 1 shortly after we moved to Sharjah, and every season thereafter was like a signpost for another year of achievement there - newly moved, then in the middle of an MA, then morning sickness while watching Sybil die, then I had jjuuuuuuust had a baby (seriously I watched Season 4 mostly while nursing Sterling, and if you're confused because you counted months from morning sickness, it's because Season 4 was the first time I watched it on the British schedule in the autumn instead of the winter), and then watching Season 5 after going back to work. And here's Season 6, in Finland.

More to come in a few months! My lips are sealed until then, for your convenience. I hate spoilers.
